Photoplastic
Part of our second year photography degree coursework is a group exhibition with a specific theme chosen by the group. After careful deliberation the group chose “Plastic” as a theme with each group member producing images of plastic in their own way. My interpretation was to produce studio images of people either wearing plastic or using plastic in the image in some other way.
The first shoot was with Taylor who modelled recycled plastic clothing made by dress designer Tamsin at Scarlette Etoile. The outfits were fashioned from recycled shopping bags.
Taylor is also depicted here, draped in a polyester (plastic fabric) Union flag.
In the next shoot I used a Foundation course student in Fashion. The girl is modelling a raincoat fashioned from a shower curtain. The coat includes fasteners utilising the plastic shower curtain hanging loops.
Another Foundation student Shadia did two shoots with me. She is seen here wearing a shawl designed by Tamsin at Scarlett Etoille.
Two more images of Shadia wearing a bin bag and recycling bag.
